I purchased a computer from Apple today, and they told me that I had 60 days
to purchase Apple Care. It kind of sounds like it depends on which Apple
employee one is talking with.

I thought it was 60 days but, now that I think about it, when last I was
in an Apple store, I was told 30 days from the date of purchase, as well.
I don't know why I cannot get that 60-day time period out of my head.

Mark, I called apple about this last friday, and they told me apple care
had to be purchased within 30 days of any device. When were you told 60
days?

from the date of purchase. This, of course, is assuming that one buys
the device from an authorized retailer.
I would expect the same or similar would be true in Canada, also.

Hi folks,
I do hope I have the service plan name correctly.
As of December 1, all Canadian mobile providers must unlock phones
free of charge. I recently got an IPhone 5..more to the type, that
is tied to Bell, and that I
intend having unlocked.
Once that is done I want to have an apple genius help me do some
things, add all the enhanced voices the phone will support for example.
As I have no other functional apple product, and to insure things are
done well with some backup in person I want to buy the Apple care
support service.
Can I do this even if I did not buy the phone from Apple directly? My
hope is that as I acquire the other apple things I desire, like a
slightly older macbook pro, the care package will extend to those items
as well.
