I also have gone back to the previous version of skype, just copied the application from my carbon copy cloner backup. I'm sure there will come a time when older versions will no longer work but the new version has too many problems, not only is it unresponsive, but finding the features I need is much more difficult. It doesn't matter who the developer is, when you have had a certain interface for years, completely changing it is a bad idea, there is simply no advantage to doing this. I strongly doubt Microsoft will return to the interface they had though, I'm wondering if they actually released the new version to testers and got feedback about it, I couldn't even figure out how to add new contacts with the new version.
