I think it's more of an issue if you read by paragraphs, rather than using the arrow keys to read line by line. Reading line by line, I would definitely want the feedback, but with JFW, breaks between paragraphs aren't usually spoken, and it isn't necessary to arrow across them before getting to the next paragraph. Voiceover sometimes behaves like that, and it sometimes doesn't.
It's not a big deal once you get used to it, but if there were an option to change how Voiceover handled paragraph breaks, I'd probably use it.
