Ever since High Sierra came out, I've been experiencing this problem. It's not every minute, but I often find it happens when I'm working on the Mac. That is, it doesn't happen if I leave the machine alone but on.
The problem is that it interrupts speech. I can't do vo-a anymore, because I'll usually get interrupted by this partway along and have to re-read from the start of the paragraph I was on. If I switch apps and wait to hear the title, such as the open webpage in Safari, VO cuts off before it gets that far. You get the idea. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen often enough to be disruptive. I understand that I'm the only one for whom this is a problem, or so I thought until this thread came along. As I do run macOS betas, I've reported this problem and sent stack shots. I've found no fix thus far. I've used an external keyboard as well as the built-in one. I never change activities, manually or automatically. I do run off an archived copy of VO prefs that I've maintained for a few years, so that could be the problem. Now that I think of it, I should try disabling Portable Preferences and setting up VO anew, to see if that fixes things. I wonder if anyone else experiencing this issue is using Portable Preferences? -- Alex Hall > On Feb 25, 2018, at 09:03, Jonathan Cohn <[email protected]> wrote: > > I have never experienced this message repeating.
