For the record, you're looking for bluetooth headphone, not wifi. Just so your interactions with sales people go more smoothly.
As to which to buy, that depends on a number of factors. Apple's AirPods are quite popular, and will pair with your iPhone automatically. Once paired, you can use them on your Mac with no additional pairing needed. They sound good and don't even have a cable connecting the two earbuds, letting you keep them in a small case (which also charges them) in your pocket without fear of cables getting crimped or tangled. However, they don't block out ambient noise, and their onboard playback controls are very limited compared to others. There are tons of other options. Earbuds, over-ear headphones, and more, all bluetooth. Some block a lot of sound rather like earplugs, others don't. Some have a cords, others don't. Some have great playback controls, some have less, some have none. Some are $25, some are then times that. Honestly, the best thing to do is to look online for recent bluetooth earbuds reviews and find some you really like, always assuming you don't just go for the AirPods. Incidentally, rumor has it that new AirPods will be released this year, so if you want some, you might want to get a cheap pair of earbuds and wait to see if AirPods get updated. -- Alex Hall > On Feb 28, 2018, at 05:41, 'andy' via MacVisionaries > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi all. > > When in a pub or cafe trying to get used to my 2014 Macbook Pro, I am very > much aware of the voice-over sounds around me whichenables others to pay > attention in what I'm doing. > > I'm soon to visit the Apple store in Glasgow for help with an Iphone and was > wondering if I could possible also purchase a pair of small comfortable > wireless headphones and get them paired to my Macbook. > > Never having had such an item, I'm not sure of what to ask for and how much > I'd likely have to pay. > > Any advice including brand recommendations and pairing would help me a lot. > > Thanks. > > Very best wishes. > > Andy. > From Scotland with Love. > > -- > The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries > list. > > If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if > you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or > moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. > > Your Mac Visionaries list moderator is Mark Taylor.
