Hello,
Re earlier posts about preparing a Mac for disposal I ave now securely erased
my hard disk and re-installed El Capitan both via the recovery manager
partition.
One concern is that I had to get sighted help to re-install El Capitan and now
wonder whether I could have done it without sighted help and if so how? I got
as far as agreeing to the El Capitan terms and conditions and then saw a screen
saying Sign onto App Store. I assumed that this was happening automatically and
so waited for ages for something else to happen. It was only when my sighted
wife heard my frustration and saw the screen that i learnt that there was
another window asking me to enter my apple ID and password. My wife could easily
do this using the mouse but I could not find any way using VoiceOver to
discover the existence of this window and so could not complete the El Capitan
re-install without sighted help. IN normal Mac OS operation I could have
pressed VO+F2 to discover the list of possible windows but this did not work
with recovery manager.
So if any of you have re-installed your OS from recovery manager using
VoiceOver then how did you do this?
Many thanks….
