Interesting problem. There is an activity viewer for mail that will list
progress sending and receiving messages, you can find this in the windows
menu. Another possibility is I would expect that you would have a message in
your Outbox until it gets sent.
I also recommend you consider sending large files by placing them in your
dropbox or other cloud file service and then using the share links. Mail
historically is not very good at supporting file transfers. I try to keep
attached file sizes to below 100kb.
