Hi Tim, When it comes to apple in nz we’re limited to a number of different breeds of the same fruit.
Apple have no real company presence in new Zealand, Most of our apple products and support comes out of Sydney austrailia and personally austrailia has to many snakes spiders and kiwis to make me want to move there. I’m more interested in moving on somewhere other than my current city of choice which is Dunedin where I’ve lived all my life so far But I need to change so this might be something worth looking at. Apple experiences both hardware / system related and a lot of life skills from years of not sitting twiddling my thumbs Thanks for the info I’ll go have a look now I’ve got my machine back up and running in a way that works From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Tim Kilburn Sent: Friday, 6 April 2018 3:19 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Employment at Apple Hi Simon, Not that I'm interested in transplanting to Toronto, too far away and too many people for my liking, but the posting is rather an interesting read. It sounds like the available positions could depend on your skillset as well as the needs of the given Apple Store. It would be worth your look to see if the equivalent organization in NZZ has anything similar. I’ll be interested to hear what they are looking for if you can findout anything more. and I’ll check with our rnzfb tomorrow about anythingn similar. As well as applying to apple directly, the USA wold be a big change. However just last week I got an e-mail about an opportunity here where apple is seeking blind and vision impaired individuals for possible employment. they are coordinating the effort with CNIB the Canadian National Institute for the blind. The invitation includes a place to share your resume and if selected states apple will be meeting with prospects later this month or the next. So, indeed clearly they are willing to staff an individual who is qualified first and sight impaired as an extension. Great 10of setvice to the oganisatyion now they think they don’t need first or second level IT support. What I’d like to know is what is aples reaction to employment of the blind / visually impaired I know they say they are Equal opotunity employers but is it true? The reaso I ask is I’m lookin to apply ofr a coupleof roles there and I wasn’t sure of their deal with people like mself and aalso non USA citizans Any info from anyone that has knowlede of this would be appreciated.\\\ Cheers, Simon F -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
