The thing is, apple aren't exactly known for there cheap prices, so its not going to be in the netbook market. Having a 10 screen makes it to big for a phone imo - you wouldn't really want to hold one up two your ear would you, plus only 1 of the moddels has 3g, so its not going to be a phone. If apple are marketing it as a netbook type device, I want a couple of usb's plus the abilitty to install what apps I want with out jailbreaking. So to answer your question, the only reason that I can think of for them doing this is for sighted people who want bigger screens on their iphones. Having said this, I'm pretty sure that apple will come up with a perfect reason for millions of people to buy it as per always.
Charlie, its as good as confirmed that there bringing out a tablet or that there unvailing something new on the 27th, although the logo on the invite has splodges of paint around it so perhaps its a tablet for arty people.
