Hi,

Sometimes I get so used to using the keyboard shortcuts that I'm accustomed to, 
that I don't notice that there are new ones in the menus.  I found this one the 
other day.  It's cmd-ctrl-q.  This shortcut locks your Mac screen so that you 
need to enter the password before getting at your Desktop or other activity.  I 
realize that some of you find that bothersome or cumbersome, but it is a quick 
and easy way of securing your Mac without closing the lid or logging out.  My 
MBP will automatically do this after about 2 minutes of idol time, but this is 
an easy thing to do when leaving my computer at my desk.

Just thought I'd share.
