I can't say this could be done USB to USB but you could if you thought outside the square Use a USB to Ethernet adapter on your mac to connect to the vista machine Create a smallish sized partition on the Mac HD that you can format as fat32 then share that with the vista machine as a direct connection via the USB ethernet connection So your not connecting the vista machine to your router or the internet but directly with the mac through a secondary network connection and give the share the permissions to be able to do what you need to do.
This would allow you to write from either machine to the shared partition on the mac or read either way as well. USB wont really let you connect 2 machines that way. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Bill Gallik Sent: Thursday, 31 May 2018 4:19 AM To: MacVisionaries E-Mail List <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> Subject: Is It Possible to Connect a PC to a Mac via USB A bit of background here; I have an old PC (Vista) I use for scanning documents and printing out whatever. This PC is not connected into the network router I’m using with my Mini Mac, iPhone and iPad because I don’t care to deal with the anti-virus software so necessary when made vulnerable by using network connections. However, I would like to be able to readily transfer files from my Mini-Mac to the PC (PDF documents for printing). Is it prudently feasible to connect the PC to the Mac-Mini via USB (or another possible hard-wired approach) such that the PC would appear as a device to the Mac? A device that could be browsed much like any other device? **************** - Bill from Ino, Wisconsin - "It is even harder for the average ape to believe that he has descended from man." - US Editor and Satirist, H.
