Hello Anouk,

Is there some reason that you're using Pages to read your documents and books instead of using either Preview or Skim? Do you find, for example, that Pages will accommodate larger documents? I would have thought that either of these apps would work better for reading large documents. Pages is primarily for generating new documents. If you embed graphics or use graphical effects the PDFs you produce can be quite large. I might try using Skim. Check my recent (last week) post about Skim (and where to download it) in the list archives at:

http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/msg15820.html

Note that the excerpted description of Skim (compared to Preview) is for Leopard, so modify accordingly. (And use Carlene's hint to use VO- G instead of VO-F to "Find Next" -- in my description the analogous commands for Skim and Preview under Leopard are Command-F and Command- G.) HTH.

Cheers,

Esther

Vo/g will find the next instance of the object that you are searching for. It's the find next command. HOpe that helps.

HEllo,
I often read large documents (books and lawbooks) in pages and need to search for terms like the chapter i want to read. But if i do htis via vo-f and then do vo-f again to search for a second time voicover totally locks up and crashes. I have to restart it to get everything working again. I get this seem prolbem with all the large documents I want to read, just soing alt-f the normal search function does not seem to work.
Greetings, Anouk,
