Also, VO-Home (the “go to visible beginning” command) takes you to the top of
the currently visible terminal window (i.e., after the scroll-back).

On a MacBook keyboard, this can be awkward to type – Ctrl-Option-FN-Left-Arrow.
I suppose you could say that it adds to the argument for making CapsLock the VO
modifier key.

Subject: Re: How do I clear Terminal?

Actually, the buffer is what vo cursor keys see. There is also the shell
history which stores the last N commands. The size of this history can be set
in your bashrc files. If you use arrow keys without the VO modifier and you are
on the [myname] prompt you can review and edit prior commands. This is entirely
different from the terminal buffer

.

The terminal has a buffer wich stores previous commands for reuse if desired.
Using arrow up will revisit those commands in reverse order.

This can be cleared by cmd+k and/or cmd+option+k. The second is more extensive.

There will be a vo announcement of the outcome.
When in terminal from the menu choose terminal, then preferences, then window.

Near the end of the items there are terminal buffer items which can be set by a
numerical value. This includes how much memory to devote to
the bufffer and its size limit.

Another related terminal command is to replace the k above with r, this will
reset the terminal, also with vo feedback..
