It happens with Google Chrome as well, and it freezes completely and does not allow me to do a thing, no matter what I press. It’ll say “VoiceOver off,” but not “VoiceOver on,” and it will be silent for a long time, or say “busy,” no matter what I press, though I can almost always get out and can do something with another application. But as soon as I go back to the web, it freezes until it is good and ready. Sometimes, this will happen in Mail: busy, freeze, click, and “VoiceOver on”.
