There has been on and off discussion on this list about eyetv which
seems to have some usability. Once recorded it offers some options to
share your video archive to other devices. I'm assuming that the Mac
itself could just fileshare the video content so you could access it
from anything else on your wifi network. They also have an option to
view your content remotely on an iPhone. I haven't personally tried all
this stuff so others might need to chime in on what actually works well.
