Hello Everyone,

Well, I finally upgraded my mobile data plan to include high speed mobile
sharing data.

The first thing I did was to test out Apple's instant hotspot feature by
sharing my cellular data connection between my beloved iPhone 8 Plus and my
MacBook Pro; and I must say that it is most impressive. In fact, it's so
impressive that it almost feels like magic as everything just works.

What is instant Hotspot?

Instant Hotspot is part of Continuity, and lets you share the data
connection from your iPhone or cellular iPad with your Mac or other device.
It's different from Personal Hotspot, which requires a password and connects
like a standard Wi-Fi router, in that it uses your Apple ID for
authentication, Bluetooth Low Energy (BT LE) for rapid connection, and Wi-Fi
for data transfer. So it's much faster and more convenient, but it's really
only meant for your Apple devices.

I didn't have to enter any passwords and the connection was faster than any
hardwired USB tethering I've ever used.

If you have not yet done so, give it a try. Say what you will about Apple
but note this in your book, when they do decide to do something unique, it's
really, really unique.

Enjoy,

Mark
