Thanks for the article.  Personally, I don't believe that I've experienced the 
dropped calls, the lost WiFi, and my battery life on my XS is fine.  This is 
not saying that the article is fake, just that I don't seem to be experiencing 
these issues that I can tell.  Regarding whether to update or not, in my 
opinion, go ahead and update.  The majority of the problems sited here were 
simply things that the presenter said were not fixed.  Thus, you shouldn't see 
much of a difference from 12.0 to 12.0.1.  As mentioned, there's no way of 
going backwards to 11.4.1 if you've already installed 12 and if you have an XS, 
it has to be 12 or newer.
