Well, if you really don't care that the HomePod is a one trick pony and that it can only play Apple Music, then go ahead and buy it. I just purchased an Echo Dot 3 and the sound quality is awesome. Plus I heard that if you buy two of them, you can get the same stereo quality sound you'd get with the HomePod.
