Ok where exactly are you landing in when you open the alias? When I
open mine, I hear list view and I am inside the Dropbox folder and see
the list of subfolders.

this sounds more like a incorrect mode of viewing folders than anything else.
Olny other thing I would look at is cursor tracking. Are you in column mode?
