Hello John, As for me, I have the background app refresh feature disabled in iOS. In previous releases of iOS, I discovered that such a configuration could have unexpected consequences when using the watch, unless the watch app was manually launched.
So, these days, I always launch the watch app upon rebooting my phone and everything functions as expected, even with background app refresh disabled. Be that as it may, I have never experienced a loss of complication data/display, such as that which Kawal has described. I have, however, on occasion, experienced a rather slow reboot on my Series 4, from time-to-time. Hello, I have the latest watchOS, and a fourth generation Wi-Fi only watch. I have not experienced any issues like you describe. I seldom open the Watch app on my phone. Only if I need to actually set something in there that I can’t do otherwise.
