Hi!
I am a bit confused in regards to my Airport extreme and connecting a harddisk
to it.
I have a drive which is formatted as mac extended jurnaled that has 2
partitions.
One for files and one for backing up my mac.
Setting things up in time machine when smoothly and its backing everything up
as it should.
However when i try to use the drive or the other partition as a network
harddisk i can’t find it in finder.
>From what i understand I should enable file sharing within the airport utility
>at the disks tab.
So i open up the airport utility and interact with the network area and
navigate to my airport extreme and click on that. Then i press edit and get all
the tabs from where i select the disks tab.
Here are my two partitions showing up and file sharing is enabled.
There’s also a checkbox to enable it to be available via wan but i have not
that checked.
Then we come to the secure harddisk with and here i have selected to secure my
harddisk via a disk password.
Then i click save and update and when the thing gets started i went into finder
and pressed shift cmd c to access my computer.
I go down to network and open that.
Here i see my airport extreme so i expand the item but here things stop working.
I don’t see my partitions at all.
But when i open Vlc on my Android Phone i can gain access to the disks with no
problem.
So i don’t get this at all.
I can use the android phone but not my Mac to gain access to the network disks.
Very strange.
