Actually, I first encountered scrod in Sierra, it is the tool that VoiceOVer
uses to launch AppleScript and probably other applications too. I have crashed
it with use of a Braille display also. I believe that Apple decided to make it
a separate application to be able to prevent apps launched by Apple from having
as much privileges to access the system as VoiceOver must have.
