Hi, It sounds like an incompatibility between Mojave and DBT. Instead of tabbing around, try using VO navigation within the Open dialog. Logically, it shouldn't make any difference, but when incompatibilities are involved, it's worth trying anything. I don't use DBT, but it's the best suggestion I can come up with at this point.
