Hi all,

My bank has a feature where we can make check deposits online using a scanner.
Unfortunately, when I go to their web site and work through the process, I get
to a point where I’m taken directly to java.com <http://java.com/> and am asked
to download and install Java. I’ve done this, and verified that it shows up in
System Preferences, but I still get redirected to java.com <http://java.com/>
even after the install. I’ve got the latest versions of both Mojave and Safari
running, and I did see on the Java web site that support for applets is no
longer available starting with Safari 12. What I’m not clear on is that does it
mean Mac users can’t access web sites like my bank’s if you need Java? Are
there any workarounds? This is actually the reason I asked last week about
accessibility of browsers other than Safari on the Mac.

Thanks for any help,
Pete De Vasto
