Hello Phil,

Although this would not be the preferred method, one use of the Bluetooth
connection between your iPhone and Mac is that you could use the phone to give
your Mac access to the internet. This would be done by enabling your phone's
wireless hot spot feature.

So, if you were in a hotel, out in the park, or anywhere that you have cellular
connectivity, you could use that cellular connection to give your Mac, or any
Bluetooth device, for that matter, access to the web.

In order to do this, you must make certain that you have the hot spot feature
enabled via your wireless provider.

Mark

Subject: Connecting iPhone to MacBook air via Bluetooth

I see in my iPhones Bluetooth settings that my MacBook air is an option for
connecting. I tapped on MacBook air and the iPhone connected to the MacBook via
Bluetooth, but I don’t have any idea what that could be used for. Nothing
seemed to have changed, that is, the iPhones audio did not shift over to the
MacBook air or anything like that. Can anybody tell me what the purpose of this
connection could be and how it might be used?

Sent from my IPhone
