I’ve just upgraded to an IPhone 8. The shop transferred my sim card, and most things seem to have come across ok. However, I’m just after any advice as to what settings people think I should/it’s important to check on my new phone to make sure they’ve all transferred correctly?? I’m particularly interested in saving as much power as possible, and also in protecting my privacy. So any advice would be veery much appreciated. TK: If your Apple ID was entered along with its password, and if you chose to recover this iPhone from an iCloud backup, then all settings will have been made exactly the same as you had on your previous iPhone. It may take a while for all apps and media to come down from the Cloud, but it will happen. Secondly, how do I go about changing the name of my IPhone, both on my phone and my Mac?, so that I know it’s my new phone I’m dealing with? And how do I go about removing any old phones from my Mac? TK: On your iPhone, go to Settings, About. The name of the iPhone is one of the first items on that screen. Changing it there will change it everywhere. To ensure that your previous devices have been removed from your Apple ID, go into Settings, Your Name and swipe through to the end where it lists all your devices. you can remove old devices from there. Thirdly, there are some apps on this phone that I definitely don’t want on/won’t use, and I thought that if I removed them I might save myself quite a bit of storage space. So how/what’s the best way of doing this? TK: Swipe up or down until you hear VO announce "Edit". Double-tap on the screen. Swipe left or right to find the app you wish to remove. Swipe up or down until VO announces "Delete". Double-tap and confirm. If it does not do anything, the specific app may not be deletable. Finally, how do I check that text message forwarding is working correctly between my new phone and my IPad/Mac? TK. Go to Settings, Messages, swipe to Text Message Forwarding and double-tap. The devices will be listed there. Sorry for all the questions, but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
