Apple Sends Out Media Invites for an 'It's Show Time' Event on March
25<https://macrumors.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7d0106b433773bd0aef5828e0&id=561a542715&e=1f9504a36d>
As expected, Apple will be holding a media event on Monday, March
25<https://macrumors.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7d0106b433773bd0aef5828e0&id=372ee18c52&e=1f9504a36d>,
with the company sending out invitations this week carrying the tagline "It's
Show Time." The slogan and accompanying graphics suggest the event will see the
introduction of Apple's long-rumored streaming video service, and we're also
expecting to see Apple unveil a subscription news and magazine service.

Less certain is new hardware, with some reliable sources indicating that no
hardware announcements are expected. We are, however, expecting a number of
near-term updates including AirPods and AirPower, iPad, iPad mini, and possibly
iPod touch. It's possible some of these updates could occur via press release
around the time of Apple's event.

Check out everything we expect to see at the
event<https://macrumors.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7d0106b433773bd0aef5828e0&id=96e89ea414&e=1f9504a36d>
in our overview guide that we'll keep updating in the run-up to the big day.

announcements, so we may see some news on that front such as the redesigned Mac
Pro Apple has been promising since 2017.

reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo this week issued a new report outlining

According to Kuo, the AR glasses could be ready to launch by mid-2020 and would
be primarily positioned as a display accessory for the iPhone. That design
would put the computing power and other hardware in a paired iPhone, allowing
the glasses to be as lightweight as possible.

alleging that Apple's App Store policies amount to unfair business practices.
With Apple taking a 30 percent cut of subscriptions purchased through App Store
apps, Spotify is forced to choose between absorbing that 30 percent cut or
charging more for its premium subscriptions when purchased through the
company's iOS app.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek elaborated on the company's position

referring to Apple's in-app purchase revenue slice as "a competitor tax" that
makes it difficult for services like Spotify to compete against Apple Music.

down to which ecosystem you're already invested in, but it's nice to take a
look at what competitors are doing with their products.
