Hi everyone, I really couldn’t think of a decent subject line for this question, so I’m using the particular situation I’m dealing with. I’m totally blind, and my wife who is not very “techy” is fully sighted. She’s just now getting into using her new iPhone. As you know, whenever you tap on something, the app opens up immediately, so eventually you have a whole bunch of stuff running that doesn’t need to be. So one of the things I’m trying to show her is how to close these open apps using the app switcher. The way I do it with VO is to double-tap Home, flick right or left to the app I want to close, then swipe up with three fingers. I know that you can also swipe up with one finger when you land on the app and VO gives you the choice of Activate or close. What I cannot figure out is how to do the same thing without VO running.
So now, more generally, I’d love to hear thoughts about how others of you are in the same situation. By that I mean, the totally blind person teaching one who can see. I really do want to show my wife how cool the iPhone really can be. I hope this isn’t too crazy a topic. Thanks for any feedback!
