Hi John, I've been debating that. I suppose it's worth a try. I'd certainly prefer not to have to shell out the money for a new disk. But I'm a little worried that I may have physically damaged it. What happened was that I forgot that I had connected it, and picked up my Mac, which pulled the disk off my desk. It dangled and swung around a bit before I could get the whole assembly moved back onto my desk. I was backing up my Mac at the time, so the disk was actually writing when this happened. So, I'd rather just get a new disk than format this one, only to learn down the road that it is damaged. Cheers, Donna
