Hello Simon,

While you sent me this question, off-list, since it is not of a personal
nature, I am going to reply, on-list, in hopes that others will find our
exchange useful.

First, you are correct. I have an iPad Pro 10.5 inch with smart folio
keyboard.

I have, slowly but surely, begun to use it more and more, each day.

Second, let me say that, were it not for the smart keyboard cover, I doubt I
would use iPad very much for anything other than learning how to program in
Swift. Why? Because, try as I may, I find the native iOS iPad onscreen
keyboard to be extremely frustrating. Try as I may, I cannot get my fingers
to land on the correct keys, the first time out. The keyboard is just too
large, in my opinion.

Fortunately, I purchased the Apple Smart Keyboard cover and, with it, I find
that I am enjoying using iPad to interact with many of my favorite iOS apps
such as Amazon, Yelp, YouTube, etc. Until I purchased my iPad, if I wanted
to write a review, say, for example, an app in the App Store, I would have
to turn to either my Mac or PC in order to type in text. I actually prefer
the iOS versions of many apps to their desktop counterparts so, with the
smart keyboard, I can enjoy the streamline U.I. of iOS along with the
convenience of the smart keyboard for iPad.

The battery life of iPad far surpasses that of iPhone so I am beginning to
use VOIT on iPad, extensively; this allows me to conserve power on iPhone
while, at the same time, keeping iPhone ready for more important tasks such
as taking calls via cell signal.

Now remember that I have some usable vision. Because of this, I am loving
the larger display screen of iPad, especially when it comes to viewing and,
more importantly, editing photos.

I’ll tell you that I do not like the extra weight of iPad, compared to
iPhone. I find that I don’t like to hold the device for very long as both
my hands and arms get very tired after an extremely short period of time.

I am beginning to read books and news on iPad because, as I said before, the
battery life of iPad is truly unbelievable.

I am discovering that I am not a huge fan of many of the native iOS apps, on
iPad, primarily because of the added display real estate. For example, I
find both Messages and Mail to be kind of clunky because of the larger
distances between app-controls which, on iPhone, are located adjacent to
each other.

Even though I have a HomePod, I have discovered that listening to music on
iPad 10.5 Pro, with its 4 speakers, is awesome. The 2 extra speakers, that
are included on the pro models, make a world of difference in terms of sound
quality.

I have never used an iPad mini so cannot speak to that device.

However, I can tell you that, based on the size and weight of iPad 10.5 Pro
with the Smart keyboard cover, I would never consider a larger unit,
especially were I to do a lot of traveling.

Mark

Hi mark

Correc me if I’m wrong,

You have an iPad Pro 10.5  inch with smart folio keyboard?

What do you use it for generally

And how do you find it compared to the size of the ipad mini?
If you have used one!

I’m still trying to work out which iPad device to go for,
I’m now down to 2 models,
The mini 5 or the pro 11 inch,

There are features to each that have me interested but  there are also
things such as price that make the choice difficult.

Just weighing up other peoples thoughts on their own experiences.

Cheers simon f
