Hi,

What were you doing when this problem happened?  It sounds like you may have 
been in the middle of an update or installation.  Click on your mouse to bring 
focus to whatever is on the screen.  If VO is not speaking, press cmd-f5 to 
turn it on.  If it still says that "Installer has no windows", wait for about 
half an hour and try again.  If the same message is announced, then hold in the 
power button until it powers down, usually about six or seven seconds.  Start 
up into Recovery mode by powering it up, then quickly holding down the cmd and 
r keys together for about six or seven seconds than releasing.  Wait about five 
minutes, then try turning on VO.  If the Language screen appears, choose your 
preferred language then press continue.  Once you arrive at the MacOS Utilities 
screen, select the Reinstall item and continue through the process.  Hopefully, 
you have a backup.  Normally, when doing this, it just returns to the proper 
state and life goes on normally, but in some rare cases, you do lose things.  
This would be where the backup is needed.
