Hi. maybe i am missing something, but textedit works gorgeously. I use windows for one thing only. Scanning books. And reading them, and replacing weird letters, signs with textedit after end editing with, textedit works right outta the box. Got a couple of chromebooks so the workflow goes like this , scan books in windows, save them as, txt files. After end ocr. Remove unwanted letters with textedit. I run win on the mini in a vm. After that convert to html with textutil for mac. Works. It is true though… line breaks have sometimes in the past been a major problem for linux, too windows, and back. There is a easy way to fix that though, replace them. And yes it is extra work, Also be aware there are things windows screen readers will not read, that your mac , linux screen reader will read on its own so you can easily correct it … The sign i have too remove from books right now … are called ...dont signs, or something like that .
