Yes these apps will do that. I may be going at it all wrong. Let me elaborate. Using iCloud Drive instead of Dropbox. Here is a simple example of how I want to use this resource. I decided on rtf as opposed to txt so no matter where the file may end up at, it is workable. Create a shopping list, rdit it from iOS or Mac or Windows. Mac or Windows present no issues. Under iOS, here I may be expecting too much. I want to open that document and have the text in focus. but VDR opens and displays not one but 2 or 3 instances of the document (I need to learn how to use the app anyway). If I open Pages, and navigate to the document, that is fine. Why doesn't Pages open it directly from iCloud Drive rather than VDR?

What I am getting at is, if I need to access documents on the iPhone, I want to get there in a direct way. The simpler the better. That is one reason why I was looking for a TextEdit-like app for iOS. Am I dreaming? :)

I have not tried MS Word yet on the iPhone. Can it access iCloud Drive?

Hi ET,

What about pages,
Word,
Surely they will do that if you need it.

Subject: TextEdit for iOS

Is there a TextEdit equivalent text editor that supports .rtf for iOS?
