Hi Georgina,

Yeah there is and smart me thought of that, however you need the passcode to 
then eraise the device,

Turns out plugging the iPad in to itunes and doing the volume up, volume down 
and then power button from device off puts it in to the restore state which 
then allows you to reset from scratch.

I remembered the passcode this time.
