Hi Ben, It really depends on what it is your wanting to do,
Ok so you will be wanting xCode which will take up space, But there will be other things you want, My personal thought would be a money dependant one, And that being can you afford to up the storage space to 512GB with the 16GB ram and 2018 I5 1.6GHz processor? Or the machine I priced for myself today, The 2017 13" mac book air, 8GB ram, I7 2.2GHz processor, 512GB storage, Increase your storage and you should be good to go. If you really need power then look at the mac book pro without touch bar. Hope that is somewhat helpful and welcome to the list.-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of B G Sent: Monday, 6 May 2019 3:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: New List member, buying a new Macbook Hi there, Ben here, just joined the list, so go gently on me please. *smile* I was wondering if the list had any tips on buying a new MacBook. I'm thinking of finally taking the plunge into the world of iOS and indeed Mac OS software development. So far the MacBook Air (2018) with 16GB ram and 128SSD seems the most attractive choice. I have however been informed that 128gb ssd won't be adequate for xcode and associated tools on top of the usual load of software and stored data. What does the list think? Looking forward to your responses. Cheers, Ben -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
