This is really a separate thread in the “text editor” discussion that has taken 
place on the list recently.

 

On the Mac, I tend to use TextMate for editing. However, it hasn’t received any 
updates for quite a while. Although it still works (at least for now), I’m 
wondering whether there is anything else to which I should consider migrating.

 

I generally edit LaTeX, Markdown, HTML, and occasionally source code in any of 
several programming languages. Note that, for LaTeX, the TeXShop editor appears 
to be somewhat accessible with VoiceOver, which is encouraging.

 

Integration with Git revision control is also desirable.

 

I have good editing arrangements in place on Linux and Windows, but, obviously, 
I shouldn’t be tempted to switch operating systems just to edit a file.
