I thought you could use Vo+comma, and VO+pperiod, or is that something
else?

Hello Ray,
Do you mean together with vo+cmd? If I use the spacebar instead of the
F5 key, I hear Tasks menu.

Tim, me again… dont work here. When I press vo+cmd+F5 Voice Over
doesnt say anything about the mouse being down, only something like
Capital I or word I.
The FN key I dont have to use on my full size keyboard.
Is there perhaps some Voice Over setting I should change? Or is the
OS X version of influence? I still run Sierra.
thanks,
Ronald

Hi,
That version of Drag & Drop does not normally work in the situation
you're outlining. Try using the original Drag & Drop method. Make
sure that the app window where you wish to drop is open. Navigate
to the Applications folder, navigate to the app you wish to drag,
press VO-cmd-f5 (add FN if on a laptop) to pick it up. VO will
announce "Mouse down". Use App Chooser to get to the app where you
plan to drop, navigate to the drop locations, press VO-cmd-f5 (add
FN if on a laptop) to drop. VO will announce "Mouse up" to let you
know that it was released.
Sometimes, even this method will not work. Drag &b Drop is an
awkward method for these sorts of actions, but it appears that many
developers like to use it for the sighted world.

Hi list,
What are your experiences with dragging and dropping on the Mac? I
probably never managed to succesfully do it when I tried it and
have tried it it for the last two days, without succes again.
This is what I am trying to do and how I do it:
I want to drag an app onto another app. I open the app on which the
other app has to be dropped.
Then I open up the Application folder, select the desired app and
then press vo+comma to mark it for dragging.
After that I switch with command+tab to the destinated app and
press vo+period. I hear some moving sound, but get the message that
it could not be dropped.
I have been thinking that its perhaps only possible when both app
and Finder windows are visible, but have no idea if this is the
case and how to get it done if possible.
Copying and pasting doesn’t work either.
Anyone have some advice or ideas?
Lots of thanks in advance!
Ronald
