Hi karen, The power beats pro are a form of earpods but have a hook over your ears to hold them in, They also insert slightly into the ear and have a nice sound but not as clear as the apple earpods series 2,
Really if your looking for a good quality over ear headphones for audio engineering etc then you will be best to go to a store and try different options in a situation that you can control the audio you test the phones with so you are able to get a real view of the products working in the way you want to be working with them.
