If you set hotspot 4 on a progress bar , then in any application if you use control-option-command-4, VoiceOver will speak the current state of that progress bar. Web Spots are meant for HTML based documents, and the exact way that VoiceOver knows how to determine if a web spot should be active is an mystery. But once you set a bunch of hotspots on a page, you can switch between them with hot keys or the web spot list in the rotary selector. A sweet spot is just a web-spot that VoiceOver will set initial on when that page loads. For example if you want the Sports headlines from your local newspaper to be what VoiceOver reads when you open the site, then you should be able to set the sweet spot to that area. Again, although VoiceOver is Supposed to remember webspots and hot spots, I don’t think there is anyway to review them like there is in other systems. VoiceOver also has auto-web-spots which is VoiceOver guessing where major sections of a page are. You can go to the next auto-web-spot with control-option-command-n .
