I do agree the loudness makes it difficult to make a sound judgement, but i've noticed that some tracks i have with multiple soundscapes are very clear and separated. SO i've tried with a jazz live, and the spectrum of orientation is something i quite like.
It is however, a bit steep for 30 bucks, but for those who are setting up a production system, and need to use a hi-fi on the go solution while mixing between airports, its quite a good solution. I, for one, like the difference it makes to the native speakers on my macbook pro.
