I just traded up to a 10 are from an eight that I had for two years. Same as you I wanted to keep the touch ID, but now I think the face ID is absolutely great. The 10 R is kind of a mix between an eight and an eight max it’s 3“ x 6“ with a little more heft than the eight. Battery life is much improved, sounds better as then the eight as well because of bigger speakers. I like the 10 are over the eight. Also, because it’s last year‘s model, I got $100 off the 10 are. Only paid 600 and with 220 trade-in from my eight got it for $380. All in all a very good trade up.
