Becky, Now I’m no expert by any means, but that depends on what you use your MacBook for? Yes, 2013 is getting on a bit and I don’t even know what updates are available for it. If it is frustrating you and it is going too slow for you and you can’t update it any more then maybe it’s time to upgrade. But if it is still doing everything you want then maybe you can hold on to it for a bit longer. Are you talking about iMessages? And have you got an iPhone as well? Then sending messages with the MacBook is easy. But like I said, I don’t no anything about the 2013 models. Some more info on the messaging question might help someone more knowledgeable then I to answer your question.
