I would strongly recommend Abbyy FineReader. It is easy to use, gives excellent results and can handle up to 3 languages in one document. Readiris Pro 12 is more expensive, difficult to install and register, has important settings that do not stick from one execution to the next and is distinctly buggy. I have purchased both applications and feel that Readiris was a waste of money! With both applications, it is often necessary to use another application for scanning since not all scanners are supported. I use VueScan to capture the images, but you can also use Image Capture.
