Special notice to the promised resolution within a decade. They talk about VGA. That's the resolution of a youtube video in 256 colors. If this becomes true, it will provide in say 15 years a near XVGA resolution for people who could benefit from the technology. Considering also that unification of results from labs working on this+new materials for miniaturization/heat control/bio-compatibility/upgrade frequency, tagging along a competitive environment which itself will be fuelled by applications using similar methods for thesighted (IE augmentative reality), we can surely expect something unusually good, something out of sci-fi for 1990s, coming out.
