There is no longer a search tab. The search function is under the
Today tab.

result I know the app store has. Where is the edit field located? I’ve
swiped all over the screen and there does not appear to be an Edit
Text field! At least that I’m able to locate.

Once you open the app store, put your finger at the buttom of the
screen, there you will find tabs, swipe right and or left until you
find the search tab. There you will find a search editor to input your
searc term.
