Hello Marcia,
Here is one way of using iExplorer under Catalina.
Connect your iPhone to your Mac using a cable.
Quit Photos if it gets launched automatically!
Launch iExplorer.
In the toolbar, select List view in View Mode and stop interacting.
Navigate right to the sidebar.
Interact and navigate down to Media.
VO-j three times to go to the table containing all the media.
VO-Down Arrow to Podcasts.
Right arrow alone to expand Podcasts (it might jump back up to the top of the
table).
The elements within Podcasts are: plists, jpegs and mp3s.
VO-Down Arrow to the first mp3 (it will have a filename that is all numbers).
Press Spacebar to hear which one it is and Spacebar again to close QuickLook.
Open the contextual menu with VO-Shift-m and go down to Export to folder… (The
short cut does not work!).
Press Return and a dialogue box appears.
Select an existing folder or create a new one then click the Export button.
By selecting multiple rows, you can export them all at once.
Warning: iExplorer runs a background activity called Matching tracks to iTunes
which can take quite a long time. When it’s completed, the Media contents pane
is replaced by a list of all the media files on the iPhone with an option to
export them all. This will only disappear if you navigate left to the sidebar,
interact and do VO-Up Arrow, VO-Down Arrow back to Media. VO-j three times will
then work as described.

I hope this helps.
Cheers,

Anne
