if you get the link for a pdf in your email it can be a problem. in my experience, if I click the link it opens Safari and goes to the linked page which is the pdf. there doesn't seem to be a way to download it from email which is something I used to do in Windows xp with Thunderbird.I once asked about this while talking to Apple Accessibility and the tech told me to press vo-shift-m for the context menu and arrow down to "export as pdf". if you hit enter on that it'll ask you where you want to save it and then tab down and save it there. that's the only way I know of to do it.
