You can move a folder into the dock.

How many apps can one have in the Doc on the iPhone? I have four in there
at the moment and wanted to add one more. However when I flick up once to
start edit mode and add the app to a drag it won’t let me drop it into the
Doc. Or even drop it on top of another app to create a folder.
