Simon, In one sense I agree — being totally blind and having a doorbell that provides a video image of the person at the door is meaningless. However having one where I can talk with the person before deciding to open the door. That I think makes sense. I don’t live in an apartment. I live on a 2.5 acre lot in a rural area and nearest neighbors are about 200 yards distant. So it’s a bit isolated.
