Try visiting speedtest.net to find out whether there is much of a speed difference. If it's a wireless network, there could be very real differences depending on which wireless standards each machine (Mac, Windows, iOS) supports. For example, if it isn't connecting using 802.11ac, then this will slow the data transfer considerably.
